Paulas Mom

The Carl Malone Foundation established homes for children and is incorporated in the State of Georgia as a 501(c)(3) Corporation. I set out to help bring forth a dream of my daughter-in-law in 2004, thus Mercy's Door was born that same year.

Paula knows the feeling of your dad coming to you one morning and huddling you and your brothers together to tell you that your mother has been murdered. Her mother was murdered when Paula was only seven years old, therefore, she has longed to bring healing and comfort to hurting children of today. She understands the pain of losing the one that is suppose to be there in life, to comfort you when you cry, laugh with you on your prom night and nurture you on your wedding day.

She knows that God is the only one who can fill the void of a lost parent. She knows what it is like to blame yourself for your parents mistakes. For with this tragedy she has chosen to take hold of her life and let God work all things for the good and to pour herself into our children. I have seen her over and over again show great compassion to our children. We must go through troubles in our lives to have the capacity to share a related feeling and she knows those feelings of our children we serve in our homes. She knows we must give them mercy and a time to heal. We dedicate these homes in the memory of Lorene Hyatt.
